Bighorn National Forest

Bighorn National Forest and the Bighorn Mountains

July 2014 was when we did our massive 22 state, 15 national park road trip. After leaving Devils Tower, we continued West. We stayed on I-90 through Gillette and up to Buffalo, WY. We hung a left onto Hwy 16, which is a scenic route through the Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest. Hwy 16 is also known as Cloud Peak Highway and crosses the highest pass in the forest. The other option was to continue north past Sheridan then hang a left onto the Hwy 14 Scenic Byway. Based on our schedule and what we wanted to see, we opted to take Hwy 16.

The drive across Hwy 16 was amazing. The winding road, the magnificent rock formations, the gorgeous river... it was so great we stopped numerous times to just to look at the landscape. Ain't it amazing what God created? Now we know some of you don't believe in God, and that is your choice. As long as you know that Jesus died for your sins, then what you do after that is up to you.

Anyway, we took 54 pictures as we drove through the Bighorn area. You can see them below.
